Parents of Nafisa Joseph, the model who committed suicide in her Andheri residence some months
ago, have lodged a complaint against her fiance Gautam Khanduja charging him with being responsible
for her death.
Nirmal Joseph, father of Nafisa, reached Mumbai from Bangalore on Thursday and filed a complaint
against Khanduja at a local police station late in the night, DCP Amitabh Gupta said.
After Nafisa committed suicide by hanging herself in the bedroom of her flat in Andheri a few days
before her marriage with Khanduja, a businessman, her parents had refused to name anybody as
responsible for the suicide although talking to some news channels, they had mentioned
Khanduja.
Police, while investigating the case, had asked Nafisa's parents if they had complaint against anybody
to which they (Nafisa's parents) replied in negative, police sources said.
However, just before the police decided to close investigation of the case, they asked Nafisa's parents
again and this time they expressed a wish to lodge a complaint against Khanduja, sources
added.
"Whether Khanduja will be arrested or not is too premature to comment but investigations will reveal the
truth", Gupta added.
