Following the registration, the newly married couple flew to Kolkata, which is Mouli's home town. Speaking on their marriage, Mouli was quoted saying that they chose this date as it was suggested by their friends as a good day. She said that Mazher had never seen 'Durga Puja' so she chose to visit Kolkata during the Puja time just after their marriage.
However, Mouli preferred to have a very private wedding because she is fed up taking 'pheras' onscreen. In fact, she avoided wearing saree or 'mangalsutra' when she came to Kolkata.
The actress said that she has a huge extended family in Kolkata and it was not possible for everyone to visit Mumbai. They were expecting to see her like a newly married bride but Mouli was in her usual simple look.
She said that she had acted in the attire of a Bengali, Punjabi and even a Marathi bride for many of her serials. She had to wear heavy lehengas and jewelleries for 19- 20 days at a stretch so she preferred to avoid them in her real marriage.
The couple had been dating each other for last seven years and is very comfortable with each other. Mazher was very excited to be called 'jamai' of Kolkata and he enjoyed eating the food in the city
. Even though, it was an inter- religion marriage, none of them changed their religion. Mouli said that they have given enough space to each other and does not find any need to change their religion. She said that religion is not higher than God and all religions come from the same point.
Mazher is now seen in Imagine TV's show 'Rakt Sambandh' and Mouli is planning to go behind the camera for a film soon.
We wish the couple a very happy married life!
