Subhash Ghai has finally admitted that Yaadien has not lived up to the expectations. Ghai feels that the public in India had high expectations from the film more so because it had Ghai and Hrithik coming together for the first time. "But the story was about a father and his three daughters and I guess the audience felt let down by that," he told in an interview to the press.

The director now plans to focus on Mukta Arts and zeroed in on David Dhawan, Satish Kaushik, Abbas Mastan and Ghai himself to direct film for his public limited company.
