She may be actively promoting her next Golmaal 3 but that didn't stop Kareena Kapoor from observing her first Karva Chauth for beau Saif Ali Khan. Although this fast is normally observed by married women, it has gained popularity among single girls in recent years.
All in a day's work
The actress has been staying at Pataudi, (she was there to attend a polo event on Sunday but stayed back) in Saif's ancestral home. On Tuesday morning, she drove to Delhi to join the G3 team, who'd flown in from Mumbai. She was back by Saif's side by 8.30 in the night, after completing all her work commitments.
Too late!
Bebo had committed to attending the Delhi event on October 26, with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu, a long while ago. As the day drew closer, it struck her that it coincided with Karva Chauth, but it was too late to cancel or change the date.
She realised that it was going to be difficult to stay without food and water on a day when she had to be on her feet all day, but not fasting was not an option. She was keen to do the traditional fast and puja for Saif. She couldn't go through with it last year even though she intended to, as she was unwell and under medication.
It was taxing however, as she rushed from studio to studio for media interactions and promotion for Golmaal 3, with the rest of the cast, without a drop of water or bite to eat. Most women who fast, take it easy, but Bebo had little choice.
Evening tidings
After wrapping up promotions, she returned to Pataudi and reached just as the moon was rising. She broke her fast after meeting SAK. She spent time with his family, and then drove back to Delhi to meet her sister Karisma.
The two sisters and their men met for a late dinner. The chote nawab is said to have gifted Kareena a fabulous jewellery set after the KC ritual. Kareena loves diamonds so he got her a necklace and earrings made of diamonds and emeralds.
