Sushma and her producer in talks with the actor for an international project

Gael Garc ­a Bernal, famous for his Spanish films Amores Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien and the Academy Award- nominated Babel, will be seen with Sushma Reddy in a film called The Stamp Collector (TSC).

Produced by Sanjay Bhattacharya and Sushma under the Seven Island Studios banner, the film will have an international ensemble cast.

Sanjay met the actor at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and discussed the flick. He says, "Gael expressed interest. The role demands someone of his calibre." The producer is also keen on approaching H-Town actresses Catherine Zeta-Jones and Toni Collette for the film.

Based on Vishwapriya Iyenger's acclaimed short story No Letter From Mother, the project will take off once the cast is in place. "I'm impressed by the way Mira Nair makes her films. She's an inspiration in terms of bridging the gap between East and West. Hats off to her for paving the way for other Indian filmmakers."

Bhattacharya also plans to approach Naseeruddin Shah, Boman Irani, Genelia D'Souza, Gul Panag, Saurabh Shukla, Rishi Kapoor and Ranvir Shorey for TSC. "We want to go on floors in February 2011. I think films like Do Dooni Char have proved that even small-budget films get good openings based on positive word-of- mouth, " he adds.

Sushma-Sanjay's next

B-Town venture is called National Roaming. Directed by Prayas Gupta (The Prisoner) the film will be a satirical comedy on the lines of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. "It's set in the jungle and revolves around a family that embarks on a tiger hunt in a forest reserve."
