This Diwali was extra special for Sunil Shetty, as his daughter Athiya turned 18 on the same day (November 5). The festival is all about bonding with family in the Shetty household.
A traditional affair where champagne and cards are forbibben. The proud father says, "It was more special as I watched Aathiya perform the Lakshmi puja at our residence."
Anna continues, "I had tears in my eyes when Athiya touched my feet for blessings. It was a very emotional family moment for us.
How time flies... Today, she's 18 and next year, she will be flying to New York for her education. Though I want her to stand on her own feet I am very stressed about her leaving home, and I will miss her a lot."
Papa Shetty adds, "Mana and I asked Athiya what she wanted but she never has any major demands just some clothes, bags and accessories. I don't indulge every need of my children or spoil them with lavish gifts.
My advice to them is to be responsible, live life on your terms and be happy what you are doing. I am not a strict father, but between the two of us Mana is the law-maker."
This was a triple celebration for the actor as the look of his forthcoming film, No Problem, was also unveiled at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Sunil has become rather fond of his No Problem co-star, Anil Kapoor. He admits, "I made a good friend in Anil as we got along like a house on fire. Anil spoils everybody on the sets."
