Ecstatic that Golmaal 3 has done exceedingly well at the box office, both in India and overseas, actor Tusshar Kapoor spent most of Tuesday shopping in New York City, almost immediately after he landed.
Tusshki was there with his sister and producer, Ekta for the red carpet premiere and screening of their film Shorr at the Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival.
Says the actor, "It's true. I finished all the money I had brought along, on the very first day. And though I hate shopping, I felt like going all out thanks to G3 my first blockbuster and overseas hit.
I went to my favourite brands on Madison Avenue and 53rd Street like Abercrombie, Diesel and Gap. Besides, this trip was too short to be called a holiday (he returned to Mumbai today, for a film shoot) but a good change nevertheless.
I bought T-shirts, formal blazers, shoes, sleeping suits etc. I was free on Tuesday and the film festival was the next day. I unpacked and left the hotel as soon as I reached and walked all over shopping."
The Kapoor kid has been flooded with compliments. He says, "It feels awesome more so because even in NYC, tickets are sold out. My driver in New York said there were no tickets available and that he loved my work."
From G3 to Shorr a fun loving fun character to being a dark gritty raw one was it a tough transition? "For Shorr, I had to tap into the darker side of my personality to feel the character.
But I enjoyed it very much since the directors Raj (Nidimoru) and (Krishna) DK were very helpful. We all have an aggressive side to us which can be used correctly to portray such characters."
Tusshar will be wearing a black shirt, waistcoat, jacket and trousers by Nittal to Shorr's red carpet event.
"This outfit is just not me but I feel like dressing up tonight. Nittal is a new designer who has designed my clothes for Hum Tum Aur Shabana."
