Bollywood stars formed a prominent chunk of a high-voltage MTV event held here to choose who
would wear the crown for being the most stylish.
At the LYCRA MTV Style Awards held at the Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium Friday evening, the glamorous
Rekha was named the Maha Style Icon of the Year.
Among the winners in different categories were: Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt and Preity Zinta (Most
Stylish Person in Films - Female and Male), Kumarmangalam Birla (Stylish Business - Male), Farookh
Sheikh (Most Stylish Person on Television - Male), Raveena Tandon (Most Stylish Person on Television -
Female), Baichung Bhutia (Most Stylish Person in Sports), Shaan (Most Stylish Person in Music -
Male), Sophia (Music - Female) and Aki Narula (Designer of the Year). Sachin Pilot walked away with the
honours in the Politics category.
Top designers - Rina Dhaka, Aki Narula, Manish Arora and Rocky S - presented their couture in a
special theme-based act. Among the glamorous models who sashayed on the ramp were: Candice
Pinto, Dipti Gujral and Diandra Soares.
The programme was hosted by the irrepressible MTV veejay Cyrus Broacha and the svelte Mallaika Arora
Khan.
Delivering a sensational performance with two tracks from their music album, "Hanging Around" were the
British-based group 'Trickbaby' and 'Raghav' with his famous number "Can't get enough". Both performed
live for the first time in India at the LYCRA(r) MTV Style Awards.
Popular rock group, Pentagram presented their latest creation, a trance track that was created specially
for the event. There was also some good music from composer Sandeep Chowta.
The stars of the yet-to-be-released "Musafir" - Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Mahesh Manjrekar, Aditya
Panscholi, Koena Mitra and Sameera Reddy - gave a special performance.
The cast of Balaji Telefilm's new movie "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum" - Tusshar Kapoor, Ishaa Koppikar, Ritesh
Deshmukh and Neha Dhupia - also made an appearance.
The panel of judges comprised Fardeen Khan, Feroze Gujral, Jeetendra, Malani Ramani, Mandira Bedi,
Manish Malhotra, Nikhil Chinapa and Sukhbir who selected nominees for awards in the seven categories.
