The climax of Samir Karnik's Yamla Pagla Deewana starring Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol was reshot.
A source reveals the reason behind the decision, "A few weeks back, there was a screening of the film attended by the cast. They felt that while the first half was strong, the climax needed to be tighter.
Given the fact that initial promos have got a positive response, the makers didn't want to disappoint the audience. So, they've decided to re-do the climax. "
After getting dates from the lead actors for a few days, the entire climax was re-shot. The source adds, "After watching the trial, the makers felt the climax was quite weak.
Samir got a new action director and shot the hilarious scene. "
Even though the cast approved the initial climax they felt that it was lacking in great action sequences. Sunny and Bobby Deol, who approved the new climax, thought it would make YPD more appealing.
But the spokesperson for Yamla Pagla Deewana maintains, "There was a technical problem due to which we had to re-shoot a particular scene.
We haven't held any trial for the film, so the original climax has been retained. " Touted a comeback vehicle for the Deols, the film hits theatres on January 14, 2011.
