Though the rain in 'Masti' brought a huge relief to its producer and director but the item babe Lara Dutta is still feeling the heat. Perhaps that's why this former Miss Universe can be seen 'On the Roof, In the Rain' once again in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Sipahi'.
In her own admission the leggy lass tells: "The rain sequence in Masti became a huge hit and now others want me to do an encore in their films. There have been lots of similar offers and I have accepted some of them."
"I am teaming up with the ‘Khakee' gang - Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar and Tusshar Kapoor. I have great respect for Mr Santoshi and I agreed to do the item song in ‘Khakee' only because he was the director. This time too I am doing a hot rain dance number at his request," she further adds.
Lara also claims that the outfit she wears in her latest song is very, very sexy and sure going to be talk of the town!
Ask her why she is having a sudden downpour of 'wet-and-wild' offers and she retorts, "I know I look far sexier than most actresses when I dance in the rain and that is the reason why I am being approached for such roles."
Quite a confidence, we must say but deep down, Lara is also aware if the hazards of being typecast in this image driven industry.
According to her: "While I enjoy doing such numbers, I also want to be known as a versatile actress who can perform as well. Although I have agreed to do an item song in one other film, in future it would be nice if directors offer me different kind of roles. Though a rain dance in ‘Masti' made me a household name but it may not guarantee success for every film."
Hmmmm... Is Mallika and her ilk paying attention?
