Newbie Ranveer Singh gets chatty about getting married, the alternatives to it, what he looks for in the ideal match... and yes, he does talk a bit about his co-star Anushka Sharma

Ranveer Singh, who debuts with today's release Band Baaja Baaraat, is as much fun as his onscreen character Bittu. Here he gets candid about love, shaadi and his dream woman.

What's the right age for a guy to get married?
I am not sold on this idea of marriage. I believe people should get married because they want to, not because of societal or parental pressure. We should accept that not everyone is cut out for marriage.

How long should a guy date before he gets married?
Dating is so much more fun. It's cool and it has all the good parts about being in a relationship without any pressures of taking the relationship forward.

What kind of wedding do you want for yourself?
If I decide to get married, I will want a beach wedding. I am not that much into rituals. I will get the rituals done in 10 to 15 minutes then the party will begin. And the party will go on for days!

What qualities do you look for in your partner?
She should be intelligent, kind, compassionate, comfortable with who she is, good with personal hygiene, have exemplary organisational skills, love music. I want the perfect woman.

How important is parental approval when it comes to choosing the partner?
My parents have always supported me in whatever I do. I was talking to my dad about this just the other day and he said they won't have any problems. If I am happy, they are happy too.

At your own wedding, would you even go for a wedding planner or do it on your own now that you have all the necessary experience?
I want to do it on my own. I am the kind of person who has to micro-manage everything. I'll enjoy it only if I take care of the details.

Will Ranveer Singh find Shruti (the character Anushka Sharma plays in BBB) interesting enough to date?
Yes. Shruti has a tigress attitude. I love the fact that she has a no-nonsense manner and you can't mess with her.
