Aatma - Colonial Cousins next offering is best described as a journey. One that takes you from Indian Classical right upto Jazz, Rock and Dance. This is one album that keeps moving you across different moods but without ever losing its SOUL or Aatma.

The first song, Guiding Star, sets the mood for the rest of the album. Soft music along with some soulful singing by Hariharan and Lezz make it a great listen. A song full of hope and a painting for anyone who has a dream. Mata Pita is a song for parents. Simple lyrics that pay tribute to parents for their love support and sacrifice. A humble way of saying Thank You Parents, by Lezz and Hari.

Just when you thought that the rest of the album is soft and mellow like the first 2 numbers, there comes Dheem Dheem Dhirena. A fast paced dance track, Hari is definitely on a roll in this track. With Dil Mein Tu, the Colonial Cousins have roped in none other than Grammy Award winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt to open the song by playing the Mohan Veena. An interesting jugalbandi takes place throughout the song between the Mohan Veena and the Guitar. The result is definitely worth listening to over and over again

I Love You Girl, is a brilliant heartfelt number about two hearts that are miles apart. It is amazing how two diverse singers such as Hari and Lezz compliment each other so well. They go on to prove just that in this song and in the next one too. Sundar Balma is another love ballad with a difference. Hari`s singing prowess and the female vocals in the background linger with you long after the song ends.

Devotion with a difference. That is what Sri Rama is all about. Lezz with his

English singing creates magic with Hari`s Carnatic vocals. This is definitely not your usual devotional song but at the same time it doesn't take away the devotional aspect from it.The chartbuster of this album is very much Kai Zhala. This song is in Minglish i.e. Marathi, Hindi and English. It transports you from right from Maharshtrian to African rhythms and then back to Qawwali strains all without sounding weird. Its infectious groove makes you want to hit the replay button again and again. Another surprise of the album is Turn Around (Angel Eyes). It has a strong influence of rock and some very powerful vocals from the Colonial Cousins.

Two diverse singers, two different styles but definitely one soul one aatma. The Cousins don't try anything different here. They know what they are good at and they do it better!!!!!
