Deepika to gyrate to title track in Dum Maro Dum

Deepika Padukone has scored a point over Bipasha Basu. Despite not being part of Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum, Deepika will appear in a scintillating item number for the film.

Beating her rivals Katrina, Kareena and Priyanka, Deepika has managed to get the makers to choose her to gyrate and dance to the beats of the title track.

While Bips is part of the cast, Dippy will only appear in a special music video for the film.

Intitially, Rohan Sippy was considering other actresses but when he got an overwhelming response for Deepika he decided to go with the popular opinion.

A source said, "Deepika wasn't even in talks with Rohan regarding the Dum Maro Dum item song.

However, when Deepika's name started doing the rounds Rohan got positive response, from trade and people alike."

This will be Deepika's first item song that won't be used in the film but will be part of the promotion. In the past, she has danced with Shah Rukh on Love Mera Hit Hit for Billu.

Describing the song, the source said, "Deepika has agreed to be a part of the song, for Rohan. The song will be shot next week and isn't in the Munni or Sheila league, but rather contemporary and extremely urban."

"Yes Deepika will be doing the Dum Maro Dum remix song. The song will have a contemporary feel to it. We are shooting next week. We are very excited to have Deepika on board.

Pritam is remixing the song, " Sippy said. Dum Maro Dum is set to release on April 22 next year and stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubatti.
