Starting his career as a model, John was successful in establishing himself as an actor in the tinseltown with his acting skills.
Abraham made his film debut with Jism, which made earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award nomination. But it was 'Dhoom' which made John a real star in Bollywood.
He received two Filmfare Award nominations for his negative roles in 'Dhoom', and then in 'Zinda'.
However, it was only after doing Deepa Mehta's 2005 Oscar nominated film 'Water' that John tasted open-armed critical acclaim. In 2007, he was nominated for a 'Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor' for the film 'Baabul'.
Since then, John has always entertained his fans in multiple avatars, from a macho man to a comic character, he has done them all with success and skill.
