Adnan Sami says he has suffered a lot of emotional pain and much of it shows in his music videos.

The singer and musician, who is said to be one of the fastest piano players in the world, said his latest album "Teri Kasam", which was launched here Sunday night, would also reflect his personal life.

"In this album, you will get to hear about my real life. It's about love, misery, sadness and even happiness. I like to expose my life through my songs and you can get a glimpse of it in this album," tells Adnan in an interview.

His music videos inevitably feature popular Bollywood actresses. Among the nine tracks in his latest album are "Kasam" featuring Amisha Patel and "Mahiya" with Bhumika Chawla.

"I do have a say in choosing the actress who gets featured in my video, but it is overall a team effort and I have never really written a song thinking about a particular actress.

"I'm glad that they all agree to work in my videos."

His previous songs - "Kabhi To Nazar Milao", "Bheegi Beegi Raton Mein" and "Lift Kara Dey" - were raging hits. The song "Kasam" in his latest album sounds similar to "Bheegi Beegi Raton Mein".

Asked if it was a conscious effort to stick to certain tunes, he said: "No, not all. I don't like working on a formula. In fact I never analyse my albums and whenever I do shows, it is difficult to say that a particular beat or track is the best of my lot."

Sameer pens his lyrics. "I like to compose music and when I get a great tune I just like to write dummy lyrics for it. I communicate my thoughts to Sameer, talk to him about my life, which reflects in his lyrics."

Adnan has had his fair share of controversies, some of it because he was dubbed a Pakistani who sings in India.

"I actually came from Toronto and I don't blame people who made those statements. All I can say is that they had the freedom to express what they felt was right. But they were factually wrong in what they said," he added.

"I had problems in Indore with a show and there was negative information about me at that time. The truth is that the show organisers had agreed to make some substantial payments as per the contract. They did not follow it and that's why we decide to back out of that concert."

Adnan's personal life too has seen a lot of ups and downs, including a custody battle between him and his ex-wife.

"What can I say about my life? It has been so full of sadness and misery. Even if I want to wipe off my pain, I don't know what to, because there is just too much of it."

One of Adnan's videos is expected to feature Pakistani actress Meera who was present at the launch of his latest album.

Meera has been in India for the shooting of "Nazar Kay Samnay", a film written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Soni Razdan. Also present at the music launch were Mahima Chaudhry, VJ Sophia and Ustad Sultan Khan.

Ask him about acting in movies and he says he is not cut out for it. "But if something outlandishly different comes my way, then you may well see me on the big bad screen," he says.
