Kamal Haasan has once again run into rough weather over a film, with PMK leader S. Ramadoss saying he would oppose the English title of the superstar's next movie.

The bilingual film has been titled "Mumbai Express".

The Tamil Protection Movement floated by Ramadoss will be writing to Kamal, asking him to change the title. The organisation has been campaigning against English titles for Tamil films, like "Jeans", "New", and "Dreams".

Kamal had ruled out any controversy over the title. "I know all Tamil-loving people, including Thirumavalavan (a Dalit politician). I have also read his writings. They are my good friends," he said.

Kamal had earlier got into a row, which was resolved in court, over the title "Vasoolraja M.B.B.S." for the Tamil remake of the Hindi hit "Munnabhai M.B.B.S.".

He also had trouble over "Sandiyaar", the original title of the runaway hit "Virumaandi". The PMK and the Puthiya Tamizhagam had objected to the title.

Chief Minister and former film star J. Jayalalitha resolved the problem. At her office, Kamal promised that the film would not contain any material involving castes and communities. He later changed the film's title.

Following his divorce from former Bollywood actress Sarika, Kamal is now reportedly involved with one of his former film heroines, who is said to be close to the chief minister.

Politics figured on his birthday again when he told the media that an "influential politician from north India" had come forward to help schools in Tamil Nadu through his fan club.

The politician, better known as a friend of Amitabh Bachchan, is Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.
