"Bandhak", a Hindi feature film about the 9/11 backlash in the US, is to be released in
December.
The film, first screened at a California festival on the third anniversary of 9/11, was shown at the
Indo-American Art Council's diaspora film festival here.
The story revolves around Sachdev, a professional living in Oklahoma who is killed by a racist following the
World Trade Centre attack. His brother Baldev, in a frenzy of revenge, takes a white man hostage.
Ramzan Lakhani, the producer and one of the actors in the movie, tells: "The climax will keep viewers on
the edge of their seats, wondering about Baldev's fate.
"In terms of the logistics of its distribution and release, we are still pursuing distributors and hope to
release the film some time in December."
Produced by Digimax Studio, it was written, directed, acted and edited entirely by an Indian American
crew from New Jersey and New York.
