The two film share several similarities Patiala House is all set to release on February 11.

The film seems to have lots of similarities to the 2007 release Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal both are sports-based films and both have the protagonist opting to go against his father and live his own dream in the same city, London.

Turning point: Gattu meets Simran who gives him the courage to follow his dream.

Synopsis: Sunny is recruited by Tony Singh, the coach of Southall United, a South Asian football team, to help them win the Combined Counties championship. Sunny takes the team to the semi final but then moves to Millwall FC.
The dad factor: Sunny's dad Jaidev used to play for the all-Asian club. During the same championship in 1985, the opposing teams hated them and attacked Jaidev, spelling the end of their hopes of winning the cup. So Jaidev hates it that Sunny's dream is to play for a mainstream English football club instead of an Asian one.
Turning point: Sunny learns the truth and decides to support the cause of South Asians in the UK. He moves back to Southall United.
