When filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj was asked why he did not cast Shahid Kapoor as one of the seven husbands of Priyanka Chopra in his upcoming film 7 Khoon Maaf, the director had a straightforward answer that Shahid refused.

We have all seen the amazing onscreen chemistry between Shahid and Priyanka in Kaminey, which was also directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. So, everyone was expecting Vishal to cast Shahid as one of the seven male co-stars of the actress.

However, Vishal said that Shahid was then busy with the preparation of his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut Mausam. It required the actor to have a particular get up and it was not possible for him to get into any of the characters of 7 Khoon Maaf at that point of time.

Speaking to the media at an event, the director said that 7 Khoon Maaf has been made on Ruskin Bond's short story titled 'Susanna's Seven Husbands'.

Taking this opportunity, Vishal also praised his leading lady Priyanka saying that he could sense her talents when he cast her in Kaminey. He added that her talents remained under utilized and he found her suiting best for this rolein 7 Khoon Maaf.

7 Khoon Maaf is all set to release on Feb 18.
