PS: Director Madhur Bhandarkar has asked her not to talk about it. Obviously!
Tisca Chopra plays a socialite in Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji but the director is keeping her character under wraps.
Says a source close to the actress, "Tisca doesn't feature in the promos. When Madhur narrated the role to her, he informed her that she would play a real-life Page 3 socialite.
He also told her that he didn't want to reveal her character until after the film's release."
Apparently Tisca's character is a stylish socialite who has a rocky marriage and later divorces a business tycoon and then hooks up again with another eligible man.
Chopra has remained tight-lipped about it as Madhur has asked her not to disclose any details till he gives the go-ahead.
The director feels that the socialite on whom the character is based, might object to it and try to stop the film and so is playing it safe. The source adds, "Apparently the character is based on socialite Queenie Dhody."
Bhandarkar maintains, "Tisca's character is not based on anyone from real life. As far as playing a socialite is concerned, I have to have a socialite in every film of mine be it Page 3, Fashion or Corporate.
Chopra has a powerful role which we didn't want to reveal in the beginning. It's very different from her character in Taare Zameen Par.
Also, it was a marketing ploy to reveal Tisca's character later. The producer wanted to project the film as a romantic comedy with three girls and three guys."
Jhagda on sets
According to reports, Tisca and Emraan Hashmi had got into a tiff over Mallika Sherawat while shooting for DTBHJ. When Tisca passed a comment on Mallika, Emraan sprung to her defense. The fight had to be sorted out by the unit before it became an ugly spat.
