Rajkumar Santoshi announces yet another film. Will this one see the light of day?

After making numerous announcements on projects he will start soon, Rajkumar Santoshi has still to wield the directorial baton again after Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani that released in November 2009.

In the last couple of weeks there had initially been buzz that he would do a romantic comedy with Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. Then there was talk of another project, a comedy, with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai.

Says a source, "The filmmaker is known for initiating several projects most of which don't see light of day. He tasted success with Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani after a long time as his earlier films did not do well.

Ajab... was also not a typical Santoshi film. But as it received a favourable response, he is now keen to make breezy comedies. But the industry wonders when things will actually roll."

However Santoshi maintains, "I don't make all these announcements. People are just assuming things. It takes time for a project to happen as many aspects have to work out."

He adds, "All that I can say is that I have signed Abhishek Bachchan for a film. No heroine has been finalised it."

The director maintains that last year he was busy with Power that, too, appears in the doldrums. "There was a date issue with Power as it is a multi-starrer. I have now left it with the producer to clear things up."

Meanwhile Santoshi is planning his film with Abhishek!
