Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra spent a few days in Kiev in Ukraine on a business-cum-pleasure trip. The actress and her husband were in Ukraine to inaugurate the Sanjeevani spa and yoga school there.
Says a friend of the couple, "The spa is owned by the daughter of Ukraine's ex-PM. After the function, they decided to stay back for a few days. They visited the Sofiya Square and other places of interest in the city.
It was not really the best weather for a visit, as it was freezing cold but they made the best of it, since they were already there."
Local flavour
Since both husband and wife are foodies, they tried the local specialties like kapusniak or soup made with pork, salo (pork fat), sauerkraut and served with sour cream), vinigret or salad with cooked and shredded beets and sauerkraut, sometimes pickles mixed with some sunflower oil and salt, korovai which is a round bread, perogy or dumplings stuffed with fillings such as potato and cheese, often served boiled and syrnky or cottage cheese fritters, sometimes with raisins, served with sour cream and jam. On Saturday night, they went to the famous Buddha Bar and let their hair down.
