We don't know about it so far because the projects' purveyors want the focus of attention to be the hot sizzling firangi newcomer who according to Ranbir, will take the industry by storm. If we are to believe Ranbir's prophecy Nargis will take away not just the best debutante's awards but also the best actress awards next year.
What Imtiaz and Ranbir know and think we don't know is that Aditi was actually summoned to play the part that finally went to the fascinating and sexy Ms Fakhri.
So what went wrong?
Says a source, "Imtiaz has a penchant for foreign actresses. He had signed a Brazilian model Giselle almost overnight to play a Punjabi kudi in Love Aaj Kal.
The girl was a nightmare on the sets. She couldn't talk a word of Hindi and she couldn't dance in the wedding sequence. You'd think that after this experience any other filmmaker would keep miles away from any actor with a non-Indian passport.
Imtiaz just took to Nargis when she walked in. Aditi was discarded for the main lead and offered the parallel part as a sop."
To her credit Aditi admits she was indeed slated to play the mainlead in Rockstar.
Says the newcomer, "I was called to meet Imtiaz Sir for the other part (Nargis Fakhri). But he had already set his mind on Nargis, signed her and started training with her. She was training for many months."
Luckily Aditi and Nargis have no scenes together in Rockstar. Firebrand that she is (have you see her slap and smooch Arunodoy Singh in Yeh Saali Zindagi?) Aditi's looks would've definitely killed the newbie who stole her role.
Laughs Aditi, "I'm happy with the part I finally got in Rockstar. I am the narrator who connects Ranbir's character to the audience. It's a part like Rani Mukherjee's in Veer-Zara. I play a young journalist. The chemistry between me and Ranbir is... well, you will have to see it yourself."
Apparently Aditi has more footage than Fakhri, and very powerful scenes. But the film's publicity will be designed to spotlight the Ranbir-Fakhri pairing.Hence the completely fake and orchestrated stories of a real-life relationship between the hot new pair.
Says a female co-star of Ranbir, "Trust me, these rumours of Nargis and Ranbir will die down the day Rockstar releases.Poor Aditi. She has a very important role in Rockstar. But she is married and just not fodder for gossip."
Good to see Ranbir and his Rockstar director support a newcomer so passionately. But why sideline a talented and pretty actress to highlight what looks like a high-profile campaign for contraception?
