Sanjay Dutt suffered a hairline injury on Friday while working out in his hotel gym in Pattaya.
It is learnt that a dumbell fell on his right foot, injuring it. The actor is in Thailand shooting for his home production, Rascals.
Dutt's business manager and co-producer Dharam Oberoi reveals, "After pack-up, Sanju was working out at his gym when he slipped and fell. A dumbell fell on his right foot, causing an injury."
Dutt was rushed to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital as his foot immediately swelled up, and he was in agonising pain.
Adds Dharam, "Though no fracture was diagnosed the doctor told asked Baba to take necessary precaution, and rest."
Dutt spent the night in agony with ice packs on his foot and popping painkillers.
Dharam adds, "The doctor advised Sanju rest his foot for two days but the actor insisted on returning to work, and completing the schedule as Kangna was leaving for Mumbai the following day.
A combination shot of Ajay, Sanju and Kangna was to be shot, and he wanted to finish that."
Blue foot
By the time the shooting was completed, Dutt's condition worsened. "His foot further swelled and turned blue. Sanju was taken to the hospital again, and this time the X-ray revealed a hairline crack."
Now he has been advised to stay off his foot for the next few days but Dutt, also the film's producer, can't stay in his room, and he has been hobbling around on the set. He has been completing his shots without wearing any shoes and using a walking stick.
Dutt's buddy and co-star, Ajay Devgn, has taken over the reins. Dharam says, "He is making sure that Sanju doesn't over exert himself. Sanju will rest only after the Bangkok schedule gets completed in Feb-end."
