The lad had to lose 14 kilos to fit in to the character of a school boy. He also had to abstain from working out as he could not look muscular.
He says, "It was a vast change from playing Joy Lobo, who was serious with clear ambitions. I had to literally unlearn everything I had done so far." He stars opposite Giselle Monteiro (Love Aaj Kal). The film is about a bunch of friends in school.
Satyajit Dubey who was discovered by Roshan Abbas in a couple of ad films makes his debut in Always Kabhi Kabhi. He hasn't been trained as an actor but has a theatre background. The newbie who plays a geek in his debut is cast opposite Zoa Morani.
He says, "Roshan Sir was more of a teacher to me than a director. He taught me how to get comfortable in a given setting and always encouraged spontaneity." He's proud to be part of a film from SRK's banner, and adds, "God has rewarded me for my patience."
Such humility... let's hope it stays after his first release. A certain Ranveer Singh sounded just as humble before Band Bajaa Baaraat became a hit.
NB: Satyajit is the grandson of theatre stalwart Pandit Satyadev Dubey!
