Tusshar Kapoor appears to have found a close friend in his Shorr co-star Radhika Apte (had earlier acted in Rakta Charitra opposite Vivek Oberoi).
Says a source, "Though bonding between stars is a common thing, Tusshar has always been reserved around his female co-stars, till he gets to know them better.
Though Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora are his best friends now, it was years before they became so close.
So it came as a surprise when the actor was seen getting along with really well with a relative newbie. They hit it off instantly from day one maybe because they are so different from each other.
While Tusshar is sensitive, shy and reticent, Radhika is bubbly, outgoing and very talkative."
A lesser known fact is that Apte was Tusshar's choice.
"When the production house Balaji and directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK were going through the list, Kapoor picked Radhika's picture and asked them to call her over for a screen test as he felt she suited the character. She plays his wife in the film."
Their on-screen vibes obviously continued off the sets. "The two even met for dinner several times at different restaurants Tusshar frequents."
Currently Radhika is in London learning a special form of dance and he misses her a lot. "They keep in touch through emails and Skype, " reveals the source.
RADHIKA WHO?
Rahul Bose had seen Apte perform in Anahita Oberoi's play Bombay Black, suggested her name to director Aniruddha Roy Choudhury who cast her in Antaheen. She played the role of Brinda Roy Menon, a TV journalist, in Antaheen.
She has done Marathi plays and films. She was last seen in Maneej Premnath's The Waiting Room and will be seen in Amol Palekar's untitled Marathi film.
