Bollywood director Anees Bazmee, who has shot a chunk of his upcoming film "Thank You" in Vancouver, hopes to have its premiere in Canada.

"Thank You" is a romantic comedy around extra marital affairs and features Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan, Suniel Shetty, Celina Jaitley and Rimi Sen. It will hit the screens April 8.

Bazmee has his reasons for hoping so, says a source.

"Anees Bazmee, since the start, wanted to shoot in fresh locations for 'Thank You' and so he insisted on shooting in Canada. But there were a few problems in shooting with regard to approvals for filming in the city.

"But Akshay being a resident of Canada came to the rescue and helped in all ways possible by getting visas, permissions and other requirements finalised so that the shooting could be carried out smoothly," said the source.

Since the film has been shot extensively in Canada, it is justified for Bazmee to have high hopes, and Akshay, who is currently serving as a brand ambassador in India for the Canadian Tourism Commission, might surely help.
