When a sound studio faced its first failure in 12 years on Monday night during a recording she was at, it was something Ekta Kapoor worried about. But when she didn't get the delivery of her film's prints till late Tuesday night, it sent alarm bells ringing.
So spooked is the film's producer that she has decided to have popular devotional song, the Hanuman Chalisa, added to all 600 prints of her flick. It features for a couple of minutes before the film starts with accompanying visuals.
Initially it was decided that Ekta, an intensely spiritual person herself, would sing it but then Pandit Sukhdev Chaturvedi was brought in.
The entire track was recorded in flat one and a half hours and has been attached to the prints, a source in Balaji reveals.
Says the source, "Many accidents and freak incidents took place on the sets while shooting for Ragini MMS and even during post-production and promotions. That could have prompted her latest decision."
Ekta says, "I am so spooked by what's been happening.... Ragini MMS has taken a lot out me emotionally. The shoot was draining enough and then when I saw it for the first time, I was terrified! I love horror but I have taken lots of precautions for this paranormal thriller to ensure its safe release!"
The source adds, "A lot of concerned parties had warned Ekta against making a paranormal thriller since anything supernatural would attract a lot of negative energy but she was very keen on the film."
