Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's granddaughter Zanai is set to make her singing debut in Mahesh Kadiyal's film "Maaee".

"One of the songs in film 'Maaee' has been sung by my granddaughter Zanai. Her first song in my film. Record release on Sept 8," Asha wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

Interestingly, Asha is also making her acting debut with the film, which is about a woman abandoned by her only son who goes on to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Actress Padmini Kolhapure will be essaying the role of her daughter.

Veteran actor Dev Anand gave his best wishes to both grandmother and granddaughter for their debut venture.

"Ashaji my blessings to you and Zanai on your latest venture 'Maaee' and may Zanai could be as big and as great like you," he tweeted.
