His wife Latha, who will leave for Singapore on Saturday, issued a hand-written statement to the media and his fans, saying the Tamil actor is doing well.
"I wholeheartedly thank you for your prayers and joint prayers for my husband's health and recovery. Mr Rajinikanth is doing well. He is in need of complete rest and healthcare now. We will be travelling to Singapore for his medical treatment and rejuvenation," said Latha.
"Please don't worry about any unreal information about him. On behalf of my family, I again thank you all for your best wishes and your prayers which will give him good health," she said.
According to sources close to his family, Rajinikanth flew as a ‘wheelchair passenger' on a Singapore Airlines flight.
He was driven to the runway on an ambulance and travelled in his passport name Shivaji Rao.
Rajinikanth was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on May 15.
The Tamil actor has been undergoing dialysis and has kidney problems.
Rajinikanth has been suffering from recurrent respiratory infection and gastro intestinal ailments and was advised complete bed rest.
The 61-year-old star with a god like fan following after the phenomenal success of Robot (Endhiran), which was dubbed in Hindi as well, had recently started working on his new film Rana with Deepika Padukone in Chennai.
He plays three roles in the film on the Mahurat sets of which he fell sick on April 29 and had to be hospitalized first.
