According to reports, the Tamil actor called up Jayalalithaa to congratulate her on her victory at the recently-held assembly polls.
Rajinikanth said Jaya's AIADMK has ‘saved' Tamil Nadu by returning to power.
However, Rajini also maintained his PR with former Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi.
In a telephonic conversation with Karuna, Rajini said: "You have faced so many ups and downs in life. Now it is important that you take care of your health. You should not consider anything big above your health."
The Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) lost heavily the elections in Tamil Nadu this year. J Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu returned to power as her party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) bagged 203 seats against 31 by DMK in state assembly polls conducted in April-May.
Rajinikanth, who was undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital, has recovered completely, said his son-in-law Dhanush K Raja on Wednesday.
Dhanush said Rajinikanth has been discharged from Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
"Superstar discharged from hospital. He has recovered completely and taking rest," tweeted the Tamil actor who married Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya in 2004.
Rajinikanth was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for kidney ailment on May 28.
Earlier, he was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai on May 15. The Tamil actor was undergoing dialysis and has kidney problems.
Rajinikanth had been suffering from recurrent respiratory infection and gastro intestinal ailments and was advised complete bed rest.
The 61-year-old star with a god like fan following after the phenomenal success of Robot (Endhiran), which was dubbed in Hindi as well, had recently started working on his new film Rana with Deepika Padukone in Chennai.
He plays three roles in the film on the Mahurat sets of which he fell sick on April 29 and had to be hospitalized first.
