"I tried breaking out of the comedy genre, but audiences pushed me back into it. I did 'Rann' and no one went to see it. I did 'Aladin', no one bothered about it. Whenever I try to do something different, unfortunately they don't work," Riteish told.
"If I were Salman Khan, I would have solo hits every day. I am not Salman Khan so I have to figure it out. I did four films and none of them worked. I had four back-to-back flops before 'Housefull' came to me," added the actor.
Experience has taught the actor to remain faithful to multi-starrer comedies after four of his films -- "Kal Kissne Dekha", "Aladin", "Rann" and "Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai" -- tanked at the box office.
"I think action films requires courage. The filmmakers have to figure out whether you can do such films or not. Last action movie I did was 'Cash', but it failed at the box office," said Riteish.
