She is the original sizzle chick. Raveena Tandon who redefined the item number concept with her chart-busting Shaher ki ladki in Rakshak (2006) returns to the silver screen after a long hiatus with a new item song for Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.
Says a source, "When Puri Jagannath shot the song, he never thought it would turn out to be so enticing. Raveena's Chandigarh di star was a last-minute addition meant to be a promotional video. But now the Bbuddah team thinks it should be included in the film. A decision will be taken in the next couple of days before the film goes to the censor board."
Puri, however, maintains that the song will remain a promotional video only. "The tune was part of Raveena's character's background music. The music was played every time she comes on screen. At the last minute we thought of making a song out of it. I don't know if we can fit it into the film."
However sources reveal that the junior Bachchan will also shoot a portion of the track.
Tandon, meanwhile, is happy that the song has caught on. "I don't know how and why they decided to shoot the song. It was never meant to be a part of the film. It was very clear that my character would have no song.
I was suddenly asked to shoot for it, which we completed in two days. I don't know how they plan to use it."
A source maintains that Tandon's song is being incorporated into the film. "None of the female leads " Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Charmy or Sonal Chauhan " have any songs. They never thought Raveena's number would turn out so well. The number is the only glam element in the movie. It will now be part of the narrative."
Guess we'll just have to wait for July 1 to watch if it's made the cut.
