The "Baghban" team of Ravi Chopra and Hema Malini returns - this time for a TV serial "Kamini Damini". Hema plays a double role in the serial inspired by G.P. Sippy's classic "Seeta Aur Geeta" of the 1970s.

"I don't see much difference in television and movies these days; just that the movie was a bit short and this one more in detail. I have done a lot of television earlier, so it was not a new experience for me," she tells.

Hema has acted in "Tera Panne", "Nupur", "Amrapali", "Jhansi ki Rani".

"In fact I directed, produced and acted 'Amrapali'. 'Nupur' serial was stopped in between after 13 episodes," she pointed.

The "dream girl" confessed that she does not watch any TV serials herself. "My family especially is all the time glued to these serials but I really don't have the time for TV. I only watch news on TV after my dance performances," she said.

"Kamini Damini" is the story of two middle-aged identical twins Kamini and Damini, who get separated in their youth. They meet again several years later. Damini then replaces her sister to solve her problems and protect her family members who torture her.

Hema Malini herself dons the roles of Kamini and Damini. Besides, it also stars TV actor Pankaj Dheer (Karan in "Mahabharat") as Kamini's husband, Anang Desai, Shashi Sharma, Dharmesh Tiwari and Rajesh Puri in other key roles.

To be telecast on Sahara TV from Mondays to Thursdays at 10 p.m., the serial is being produced and directed by Ravi Chopra of B.R. Films, known for highly acclaimed and successful films like "Naya Daur", "Nikaah", the recent success "Baghban" as well as the highly successful TV serial "Mahabharat".

"While the roles in 'Seeta Aur Geeta' were that of young girls, those in "Kamini Damini" are women in their middle ages. In this sense, there is a greater maturity to my roles in the serial," she said.

Ravi Chopra said: "Part of the serial will be shot abroad. "It could be either Malaysia or Dubai, we still have to finalised that."

She revealed further that she wants to direct Esha in a movie. "That's going to be my next foray into Bollywood movies. I already have the script ready for this film. It will be a very special film for her career.

"I have not yet decided who will play the lead opposite her at the same I'm still in the lookout for a good filmmaker who would do justice to my film," she said.
