Telegu film star Chiranjeevi will no more be seen on the silver screen as he announced his decision to quit acting on Tuesday.
The South Indian actor turned politician said that the people of Andhra Pradesh want to see him sitting on the Chief Minister's seat
in real life so their is no need for him to perform on screen any more and concentrate more in his political life,
"Why CM in cinema? People want to see me as chief minister, " Chiranjeevi said when he was asked that whether he will be seen
performing the character of a Chief Minister in the reel life.
He said that he will not act in films in the coming days and it will be his son Ram Charan Tej will who will continue the legacy
ahead on the big screen.
His announcement dropped the curtains on the hope of seeing the South Indian superstar performing in his 150th film venture.
Earlier in December he had announced that he would step into the acting shoes again for his 150th film that was supposed to be
produced by his actor-son Ram Charan Tej.
Chiranjeevi who had dominated the Telegu film industry for nearly thirty years had decided to quit acting in 2008 to establish his
Praja Rajyam Party.
Among his significant political moves was the merging of his party with the Indian National Congress.
