His name and number is often confused with choreographer Farah Khan, which leads him to answer calls from some of the most unexpected celebrities in the industry. But actor Farhan Khan, who figures in the list of promising newcomers in the industry, does not mind politely answering the phone in his baritone voice.

He keeps hoping that some of the callers will ask for him one of these days. Farhan who has been a stage celebrity in his own right having done a number of plays with Dinyar Contractor and Bharat Dabholkar, was last seen in the 'Meri Madhubala' video, directed by Sanjay Chhel.

Chhel was keen on casting him in one of his films thereafter but things didn't materialize. In the intervening period, Farhan landed up doing a brief negative role in HUMRAAZ, which didn't quite make an impact on his career. Now Farhan is looking forward to the big break in Abbas Mustan's next film for which he has been confirmed to play the main negative lead.

"It's a negative role no doubt but there's a lot of potential in it and with directors like Abbas-Mustan, you can be rest assured that you get noticed," says Farhan, who is currently being approached to play the negative lead in many films.
