"It can't be a husband-wife relationship on the sets. More than me, it was Parvin who was very particular about this thing that on the sets we should always be very professional, " the 30-year-old told in an interview.
"We didn't discuss anything on the sets that would lead to an argument or difference of opinion. We did all that before hand and planned everything in advance. On the sets, it was a very professional producer-director thing rather than a husband-wife thing, " she added.
Coming out Aug 19, "Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande" is an action comedy about four wrong guys trying to do the right job. Apart from Parvin, who has also written the film, it stars Anupam Kher and Sharat Saxena.
When asked what made her take a plunge into production, Preeti, who acted in films like "Mohabbatein", "Awara Paagal Deewana", "LOC Kargil" and "Aan: Men at Work", said: "The script of the film."
"Initially, whenever I thought about it, I always thought that I would never want to become one because it is the hardest job and it is always the producer who has to run around for everything. And the stress is too much, so I had thought that this is not for me."
"But when Parvin narrated the story, we knew the film has to be made. It so happened that we couldn't trust anyone else with the film...we wanted to make it the way we wanted to make it, " said Preeti.
Last seen in 2007 release "Victoria No. 203: Diamonds Are Forever", a remake of the 1972 hit film "Victoria No. 203", the actress found being a producer is a very hectic job.
"The stress of being an actress is nothing compared to the stress of being a producer. Every single day had its downs, but then every single day had its ups also. As an actress, it's very different, you are just on the sets and you do your thing. But a producer has to take care of everything, " she said.
"This was my first time as a producer and it's a business venture. It was very different. There are times you are irritated or frustrated, but at the end of the day when you see the project, you feel satisfied. So it's all worth it, " she added.
But why didn't she face the camera for her first production venture?
"I find that very weird that just because you are the producer of the film, you have to work in the film. Parvin and I have decided that till the time we don't suit the role, we will not do it even if it's our production venture. Parvin suited the role, so he is doing it, " she explained.
And what about acting for other banners?
"I would love to act again. I just had a baby, so after some time I will look forward to doing films, " she said.
Parvin and Preeti got married in March 2008 and had their first child, a son, April 11, 2011.
