Rani Mukerji to play North Indian kudi in love with South Indian kanna

Rani Mukerji will be seen in an all-new avatar in director Sachin Kundalkar's untitled Hindi film. Mukerji plays a North Indian girl in love with a South Indian boy (played by Prithvi Raj, who played Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's husband in the Tamil version of Raavan).

Kundalkar, whose earlier Marathi film, Gandh created a buzz, says, "We are in the process of putting the project together. It is a North-South love story. We are hoping we find a title from the lyrics that Amitabh Bhattacharya is be writing for the songs.

Amit Trivedi will be composing the music." Anurag Kashyap, who is a close friend of the director, will produce the film. Both, Kashyap and Kundalkar were keen to pair Mukerji opposite the "soft spoken" Raj.
