Indian designer Pria Kataaria Puri has received the Asian Achievers Award for her distinctive contribution to the fashion industry.

The award -- presented at a function held in Dubai -- has been set up with the objective of appreciating excellence from all over the world, and to inspire further excellence in the youth of the continent.

"It is a superb feeling to get the award from former sports minister Mani Shankar Aiyar. It is an unfathomable emotion and most importantly this prestigious award simply raises the bar higher and gives me the drive to work harder and change my own yardstick, " said Pria after receiving the award July 7.
