The directors of cop films, Singham and Force aren't blind to similarities the two movies share. Nishikant Kamat, director of Force, is anxiously monitoring audience reaction to Ajay Devgn's Singham, even though his film is still some time away from release.
Kamat is reportedly tweaking his film to make what was originally intended to be an out-and-out action flick into a romantic one. And he's doing that by shooting a love duet between John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza.
Said a source, "Singham is an action film about an honest cop on a vendetta to kill. Force shares a similar plot; the only difference is that John portrays a cop who doesn't wear a uniform. Both films are remakes of Tamil action films featuring Suriya in the lead.
Now, to give Force a distinct identity, Kamat is re-strategising it as a romantic actioner. Since the romance element in Singham is not pronounced, love will be Force's USP."
Kamat admits that a love duet has been shot, adding that an additional scene between Abraham and D'Souza will also be shot.
"Our USP is the chemistry between John and Genelia. I think they really look good together. So, apart from being an actioner, we are looking at Force as an intensely romantic film, " said Kamat.
Meanwhile, a new, longer trailer featuring romantic scenes between the two is also being made. Kamat said, "We are looking at another three-minute trailer that will have more moments between John and Genelia than the first, which was only a minute long."
