The producers of the Riteish-Genelia starrer hope to create the sort of buzz that was seen during Guru's release, by coinciding the release of the film with the couple's wedding announcement

The producers of Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya would like us to believe that Riteish Deshmukh was always thought of as the lead, even while the script was being written. And apparently, Genelia D'Souza just breezed in, fitting the character of a lively, bubbly girl like a glove. However, if well-placed sources are to be believed, the casting of the pair, is not as innocent and incidental.

According to media reports, the two are dating, and serious about their relationship. Some sources close to the couple claim that the two plan to marry sometime in early 2012. And just like Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai announced their wedding date a little before the release of their film Guru, thereby piquing the interest of viewers, producers of Tere Naal have something similar in mind.

Said a source, "The film was supposed to star another lead pair. Then the producers hit on the idea of casting Riteish and Genelia. They hope to release the film early next year, to coincide with their wedding. They want to create the kind of buzz that was seen when Guru was released."

When Kumar Taurani, head of Tips, producers of the film, was quizzed about the casting, he said, "Even when we were preparing the script, we imagined Riteish in the lead. The character suits him perfectly. As for his co-star, I wanted a lively girl. We approached Genelia, and she agreed. Besides, both films starring Riteish and Genelia have done well (Tujhe Meri Kasam and Masti)."

Taurani cannot stop talking about the Riteish-Genelia chemistry. "Their real-life friendship gives them a comfort level to play their characters to perfection." In the romcom, Deshmukh belongs to a family of kidnappers. Om Puri, who plays Deshmukh's father, is a kingpin kidnapper who ends up abducting D'Souza.
