"August 11 holds special importance in the hearts of all Dharma movies fans as well as all of those who swear by Karan Johar, the director. ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (KANK) released on 11th August, 2006 and five years, " said an official spokesperson on Thursday.
"Hence Dharma Productions celebrates the movie's fifth year anniversary; five years of love and accolades that fans continue to bestow upon the movie, " said the spokesperson.
The movie brought together a star-studded cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherji, Priety Zinta, Abhishek Bachchan, Kiron Kher and Arjun Rampal.
After the release of the movie, it had become the highest grossing Indian film of all time in the United States of America beating Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham's five-year old record.
The movie garnered both commercial and critical acclaim; it also received the honour of being invited to be included in the library of ‘The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences'.
