Among the few versatile actors who make a difference even to a minuscule role in a film is actor Atul Kulkarni,
who is eagerly looking forward to his next release, PAGE 3. Atul has a very brief role in the film, that of an
honest and straight-forward crime reporter by the name of Vinayak Mane, who does not subscribe to Konkona
Sen's ‘Page 3' journalism and brands it as ‘unreal'.
"It is a small but interesting role," says Atul, who did not have to work too hard on playing the character.
"Normally I go to great lengths in finding out the psychology of a particular character but in this case it came to
me quite naturally since I have quite a few friends who are crime reporters," he says.
Besides working with Madhur Bhandarkar has become second nature to him, having acted in two of his films,
CHANDNI BAR and SATTA. "Madhur and I share a very comfortable working relationship. We have reached a
stage where we know what to expect from each other," he says.
The big film that Atul is eagerly looking forward to this year however is RANG DE BASANTI, which he feels is
likely to make a big difference to his career. "It is the role of a lifetime. I am waiting for the shooting to
commence in February," he says.
