We all know that Kareena Kapoor is back in Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine. But rather than start his much-delayed magnum opus, the filmmaker is gearing up to direct another movie in September.
He has been secretly scripting and putting together another project which he will announce shortly.
Says a source, "After Heroine had to be postponed, Madhur needed a change of pace. The events of the past few months left him in a reflective mood.
He started writing an introspective script and had no clue when he would actually direct it. But now that it's complete, he wants to shoot it at a time when the experiences are still fresh and raw."
Flashback
Apparently, the director was under great pressure from his co-producers, UTV, to revive Heroine right away.
The film was stalled when its original lead actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan backed out of the project due to her pregnancy.
The director was extremely upset by the turn of events. "Madhur needed to distance himself from Heroine for sometime. Doing this other film is just the therapy he needs," adds the source.
UTV has been informed about Madhur's 'quickie', which goes on the floors next month for a start-to-finish schedule. It is apparently going to be his most hard-hitting film to date.
The director will resume shooting for Heroine in November now. Bhandarkar was unavailable for comment.
