Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had introduced her to Bollywood as Chanda in "Dev D" and in the process fell in love with her and eventually married her. But Kalki Koechlin says that her husband is her biggest critic and is quite harsh at times.

"Anurag is my biggest critic. He gives me his feedback, " Kalki, who has done three films with her husband, told.

"In fact, just recently, I finished writing a script and I showed it to him. He didn't approve it outright. He told me that there are some brilliant things in it, but it is like different scenes and not a story coming together. So he has asked me to work on it. He is pretty harsh that way, " added the 28-year-old.

Apart from "Dev D", a modern adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's "Devdas", Kalki worked in Kashyap's production "Shaitan" and will now be seen in his next directorial venture, "That Girl In Yellow Boots", a film that she has scripted and in which she is playing the lead role.

The film is supposed to be an intense and stark project and after its completion, Kashyap had said that he would not want to work with Kalki on such dark films because it hampers their personal relationship.

When asked her views on her husband's comments, Kalki explained: "When we were shooting the film, we did not talk to each other and even though we are happy with what we have done together, there was a lot of intense arguments.

"So it's not so much that I don't want to work with Anurag again on an intense film. (But) I think it will be more exciting for me even as an actor to do something different with him.

"I think he has his zone of gangster, emotional, violent and intense films and for me, I constantly want to reinvent what I am doing and not do the same kind of thing. So, I would like to do a different kind of film with him, " she added, saying she is very happy after marrying Kashyap.

"It's fantastic to have somebody you really love and care about. We are two very independent, fiercely stubborn people, so there are times when we don't talk to each other when we disagree on something.

But obviously it's really good to have somebody who understands you because if my husband had any other job or I had any other job, we wouldn't understand how much time and toll it takes on us.

"We wouldn't understand that you can't be free every Sunday to spend time with each other. There are times that we don't see each other for two months in a row. So we deal with that, " she added.

What about taking professional decisions for each other?

"We are very much separate in that way. Sometimes if I don't know about a filmmaker, I might ask him if he knows him... you get calls from a lot of random people. Now I have a manager to check that for me; so even that I don't ask him any more, " said Kalki.

"For me, it's fantastic because he trusts me enough that I will have something new to show him, " she added.

If people liked her in "Dev D", Kalki also received appreciation for her role in Zoya Akhtar's "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara".
