Nikhil Advani's 3D animation film Delhi Safari just got bigger. After roping in Hollywood stars Vanessa Williams, Jason Alexander and Jane Lynch, British doyen Cary Elwes and American stand-up comedian Brad Garrett to dub for the animals in the English version, he is all set to take his project to another level.
Delhi Safari will now get an international release with simultaneous multi-city premieres in the US, Middle East and India. That's not all.
These events will be attended by all the international stars mentioned above along with the Bollywood stars (Suniel Shetty, Boman Irani, Urmila Matondkar, Akshaye Khanna and Sweeny Khare) who have dubbed for the desi version.
Urmila Matondkar and Vanessa Williams, who give voice to the character of the Queen in the English and Hindi versions respectively, are expected to come together for a spectacular stage show.
"We have several big plans now. Our original plan was to start the promotion of the film from August 12. Can you imagine how disastrous that would have been, considering it was right in the middle of Anna Hazare's movement? Everything happens for the best!
We now have time to explore the Western market and take the film to a global audience with the help of the voices from Hollywood and Bollywood, " says Advani, adding that the release of the film has been postponed from September 30 to a later date.
Advani hopes his movie will be the first globally recognised animation film from India. We remind him of former mentor Karan Johar's grand plans of an animation version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with Shah Rukh, Kajol, Rani and Sanjay Dutt (replacing Salman Khan) dubbing for its canine characters.
"I'm sure Coochie Coochie Hota Hai will be a path-breaker whenever it is released, " he says.
