Buzz is 'Krishnaben Khakhrawala' will be replaced by a new show next month

Poor TRPs are all set to claim Krishnaben Khakhrawala. Despite heavy promotions by the channel, the show has not been able to live up to expectations, and hence is on its way out.

Buzz is it will be replaced by Rajan Shahi's new show Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, starring Mohnish Behl and Kritika Kamra, by October 26.

Producer Asit Modi of Krishnaben... refuted the rumours. "I haven't received any formal intimation from the channel. Agreed, the TRPs aren't great but the show has its audience.

On the lines of Gandhigiri, Krishnaben solves issues with her progressive approach called 'Krishnagiri' and people are enjoying it," he says.

Indira Krishnan who essays the lead character is more forthcoming. "I have also heard of stories about the show's culmination. But since there's been no confirmation from the producer or the channel yet, I cannot say much.

But yes, there has been a change in the time slot as well as the telecast days," she says.

If sources from the channel are to be believed, the show that has been on air for a year now has been served the 'red mark', an indication of it being under the scanner.

Adding the spice

The production house has taken serious note, and is pulling up its socks before it's too late. This is evident from the changes in the concept that have come in overnight.

For starters, writer Sanjay Chel has been roped in to add new twists and turns to the screenplay and dialogues.

Also, Krishnaben who was attired in her traditional Gujarati gear has been given a transformation.

Wearing weird clothes and colouring her face black, she will take up the role of Big Mama, a character inspired from a Hollywood movie.

Now it remains to be seen whether these desperate measures will help salvage the situation for the show.
