The angry young man Maan Singh Khurana (Gurmeet Chaudhary) of Geet Hui Sabse Parayi is tired of giving explanations.
As per the buzz, the show will end in October, ahead of Star One's makeover repositioning from a youth channel to a secondary entertainment channel.
The show, then apparently, does not fit into its scheme of affairs.
He, however, refutes these rumours. "When I made an entry in the show last year, I was told that it wasn't going to last for more than two months.
The rumours resurfaced in January and April this year too. But they have all died their natural deaths as you can see for yourself that we are still on air."
What about the dwindling TRPs? "Wherever I have gone-in Mumbai or outside, I found people loving the show.
Even the beggars on the roads recognise me as Maan from Geet," he laughs, "Even on social networking sites, there are hundreds of people who don't want the show to end.
So I wonder what TRPs we are talking about?"
The actor says he has no back-up plan in the event the show does wind up, "There have been offers, but I have concentrated on this show completely. If and when it ends, I will definitely consider other options."
Married life
A while back, the actor was in a tight spot when he was linked to co-star Drashti Dhami. How did wife Debina Bannerjee take it?
"Well, she's in the same profession and understands the good and the bad that comes along. She and I prefer not to react to such stories".
So does marriage suit him? "With Debina, life has changed for better. We have been together for seven years. She is taking it easy right now," he says.
"It's a leisurely pace for her as she works only 10-15 days a month, while I slog it out every single day for my daily show. Life's not fair. But, it's fun," he further adds.
