Narmada Ahuja's long-in-the-planning B-Town debut Manchali, we hear, has lost its lead hero to the Olympics.
Boxer Vijender Singh, who had announced his own debut in Bollywood as her co-star, has apparently backed out of the project. A search for a new co-star is underway.
A source informs, "Vijender has great hopes of striking it big at the Olympics (being held in London next year). He has begun training in earnest for it.
There is no way he can shoot for the film at this juncture, " informing that some other actors are currently being considered to replace him. "An announcement will be made soon, " he adds.
Narmada's debut, a love story directed by Lovely Singh, was announced in March. There was buzz that Govinda and Salman Khan would do cameo roles in the movie.
However, after the announcement the movie plan disappeared into oblivion. In May, Singh tied the knot with Delhi girl Archana Singh and there were doubts whether he would still act in the film given his marital status as well as his boxing schedules.
Apparently, Narmada was unaware that he was getting married. She got to know about it only after the media reported it.
There has been also speculation that she has been upset about the goings on, as it has been an extremely long wait for her debut.
Narmada's spokesperson, however, maintains, "Manchali is on course. There is no change in the cast. Vijender will shoot for it."
