'Force', which is directed by Nishikant Kamath, is an action-thriller, in which, John is essaying the role of a cop. "This film ('Force') has that real and raw action. And last time you saw this real action was when Sunny Deol used to do 'Ghayal', 'Arjun Pandit'... that real action that he did... dhai kilo ka haath. And I think the masses like size and hard hitting action, " John said.
"In terms of action in the movie, it is all real and raw action film. We have tried to avoid cables as far as possible and have used it only when safety is concerned. It is not like you kick or punch and leaves the goons suspended in the air. After 'Ghayal' this is the real raw film in the action genre, " he said.
However, John praises his co-actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn for making the action genre popular with their films like 'Wanted', 'Dabangg' and 'Singham' respectively.
"It is not like Salman, Ajay and me decided that we all will do remakes and do action films at around same time...it was just a coincidence. I am happy that Salman's films are doing good and even Ajay's film 'Singham' did well and I am too happy for him.
I think Ajay truly deserves it. If one can remember Ajay's performance in 'Aakrosh'... his action in the movie is superlative. He is a brilliant action hero, " John said.
"I always wanted to become an action hero. I just hope I get more action roles after this film. I enjoy this space.
This film ('Force') is not all about stunts and action-action. It is a romantic-action-thriller film...romance is beautiful in this movie, " he said. 'Force', a remake of the Tamil film 'Kaakha Kaakha', and also starring Genelia D'Souza, releases this Friday.
